about

Bamako Moon is the new album from Invisible System released on 1/8/20 from the same recording jams and sessions that led to the albums Bamako Sessions on Riverboat Records and Dance To The Full Moon on Arc Music.

Bamako Sessions consisted of instrumental mixes of tracks from these recording sessions chosen by Riverboat Records and Dance To The Full Moon consisted of vocal mixes of others.

Bamako Moon combines both the vocal mixes of the instrumental tracks that were on Bamako Sessions, with the instrumental mixes of the vocal tracks from Dance To The Full Moon alongside two unheard tracks mixed at the same time.

One track with Mali’s very own Adama Yalomba who was previously released on Mali MK7 Records and recorded and produced at the time by Dan’s friend Yves Wernet who ran Bogolan Recording Studios funded by EMI, Ali Farka Touré and Philippe Berthier, where at the time he also launched the recordings and career of Issa Bagayogo.

Another new track is the post punk rock influenced Malian fusion track recorded with Sambou Koyaté on vocals and Dan and Dou on guitar. Sadly Sambou as well as Banjougou (guitarist) have both deceased since these recordings.

This is the last of the first batch of releases from the recording sessions in Bamako. Future releases will be from the remaining tracks yet to be mixed and produced. And currently as singles until more time is found around other work, music/bands and family ties.
